Sdfsdf, most of us, particularly those of us in the northern hemisphere, were taught for at least 12 years (from kindergarten through 12th grade) to utilize the energy of the summer to relax and kick-back and vacation.
Yet, the energy of this time of year goes so much deeper than just that 12 years of training. It's actually an ancient cellular training within us; it's who we are as human beings in our cellular make-up and the natural rhythm of the seasons that calls on us to behave differently at this time of the year.
As a Highly Sensitive Entrepreneur, this societal training can end up working against you until you learn how to use it as an asset rather than a hindrance.
I've seen and experienced this myself with hundreds and hundreds of Highly Sensitive Leaders that I've mentored with. Because of this internal, cellular training and cellular memory, we end up going into one of 2 types of reactions.
One reaction might be that we feel a bit rebellious. We start to feel resentful and like the efforts that we've put into our business thus far this year haven't really paid off.
"What is my purpose anyway?"
"Why am I doing this?"
"This isn't working."
"I need something else."
We end up rebelling against ourselves; we forget about our systems, we become loose and lackadaisical, and our response is to take time off.
The other reaction that I often see is that wanderlust kicks in. We start to look outside ourselves for the answer, we look for ways to fix or patch what hasn't yet taken place for us. We think:
"This isn't working."
"This business model isn't working, this marketing isn't working…"
"Let me look at another training, another book, another workshop…"
Yet, neither of those reactions serves us.
The key is to remember that the power is always in responding rather than in reacting.
As a Highly Sensitive Entrepreneur and Leader, you've already chosen to live life differently. If you want to operate as an average entrepreneur or an average person, you let yourself be taken off course and maybe you look back and go:
"Wow, those goals, what happened there?"
"Oh well, I guess this is the path that I'm on."
"I guess there's nowhere to go except the way it's happening."
OR you step up as a Highly Sensitive Entrepreneur and Leader, you recognize the value of this time of year and you use the energy available to do a really honest, clear review and assessment - taking charge of and learning to LEAD your nervous system so that it's working for you, instead of allowing it to lead you.
The choice, as always, is yours.

XO. Heather
