This season, I've been focusing on how the changes in our environment impact us as HSEs. The warmth of the sun and the lush greenery can uplift our spirits and energize us, but the heightened activity and social expectations of summer can also be overwhelming. It's essential to recognize these shifts and adapt our energy management practices accordingly.
I deeply understand the unique challenges we face. Our heightened sensitivity means we process stimuli more deeply, which often leads to overwhelm. But with the right tools, we can turn this sensitivity into our greatest business asset. In my journey, the AUK Process has been a game-changer. It has provided a structured approach to navigate my sensitivity and channel it into effective business leadership.
Each stage of the AUK Process has been instrumental in my transformation.
Awareness:
The first step was becoming aware of how my sensitivity influenced my reactions and decision-making. I started by journaling daily, noting situations that triggered stress and overwhelm. This reflection helped me recognize patterns and understand the root causes of my challenges.
Understanding:
Next, I sought deeper understanding by educating myself about the impact of high sensitivity on leadership. I attended HSP-focused workshops and connected with mentors who shared their insights and experiences. This intellectual grasp of my sensitivity allowed me to see it not as a weakness, but as a unique strength.
Knowing:
The final step was consistently applying new strategies based on my understanding. I integrated mindful breathing exercises and energy mapping into my daily routine. These techniques helped me manage my energy levels, prioritize tasks, and maintain a sense of calm amidst the chaos.
