What's Happening with Heather

Speaking of values, I often get asked how in the heck I can live in NYC as a highly sensitive person. Well, among the many clarifiers brought to me by the global pandemic of 2020, deeply understanding and embracing my love for city life was one of those clarifications for me.

In her original research, Dr. Elaine Aron cites an element of the HSP trait referred to as "high sensation seeking" (HSS) and how this directly connects to our tendency as HSPs to be lovers of learning. The key becomes knowing how to balance both our HSP needs and our HSS needs.

Well, that is definitely what city living brings to me and I'm grateful I've mastered this key for myself as it brings me such personal fulfillment and joy.
